Whānau group/ House Sports Day.
The children loved being in their house colours today.
They had lots of fun at the different activities run by the PAL-Physical Activity Leaders
The Creation of Tuna- A traditional myth from Ngāi Tahu
This week, we have continued to explore our local history by exploring a local Maori myth about how Tuna (different eels) were created.
The children enjoyed reenacting the myth and making a picture plan of the main parts of the myth. They then used their plan to retell the story in their writing books.

On Wednesday, we headed off in a light drizzle to the quarry to have a fantastic day learning about the history of the quarry and exploring the park.
We spent time at the Singlemens Quarters and learnt some interesting facts about what it would have been like while living there. We had to complete a scavenger hunt inside the Quarters, our favourite part was playing on the piano in the lounge!
After that we headed down to the crusher plant and had to build our own walls using quarry stone. We all did a fantastic job working together.
